We are working on repurposing a family of compounds known as CRH antagonists. These compounds target the stress system in our body. The uterus , ovaries and endometrioum are also rich in CRH-receptors. Experimental evidence points towards a role of CRH in developing endometriosis.
Beyond pharmacological approaches, our research team is also interested in non-pharmacological complementary treatment options that can target the stress system. We are currently testing an envirnmental enrichment approach for women with endometriosis.
Our research projects are funded or have been funded by the National Institutes of Health.
